Sony NEX-3 Features

sony nex-3
Release Date: June 2010
List Price: $600 USD

Say hello to Sony's first (and surely not the last) mirrorless digital SLR: the NEX-3.

To call the NEX-3 a mirrorless digital SLR is a bit odd since the camera body resembles a compact much more than a DSLR. A better description would be "compact digital camera with interchangeable lenses".

However, hidden inside the NEX-3 is a full-fledged DSLR sensor which provides this camera with the same image quality as its much larger and heavier cousins (and allows the ISO to go up to a whopping 12800).

The NEX-3 really does have an indentity crisis: neither a true compact nor a true SLR, it creates a whole new category of camera all on its own.
