The Panasonic DMC-G1 is the first mirrorless DSLR ever made.

It includes an LCD screen that flips out from the camera body and rotates and a high-resolution electronic viewfinder. A 23-area autofocus system is designed for speed and can recognize faces in the scene.

The DMC-G1 does not have a movie mode, something to keep in mind when comparing this to other mirrorless DSLR cameras (including ones made by Panasonic).

NEWER MODEL: The DMC-G1 has been replaced by the DMC-G2.
