Fuji X-Pro1 FeaturesRelease Date: February 2012
List Price: $1,700 USD (no lens)
OverviewThe Fuji X-Pro1 is the company's first entry into the mirrrorless camera market and — as evidenced by its price tag — is not designed with the casual armchair photographer in mind. Instead, the X-Pro1 caters to photographers who desire superior image quality in a small portable package. Many digital SLR cameras include something called a "low-pass filter" which is responsible for eliminating moiré patterns — these wavy patterns can reduce the clarity of your image. Unfortunately, the filter ALSO reduces image quality. In the X-Pro1, Fuji has removed the low-pass filter and has modified the image sensor to keep moiré away. Another unique X-Pro1 feature is its hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder. The optical mode reduces shutter lag when taking photos of fast-moving subjects, while the electonic mode lets you see image information (shutter speed, aperture, histogram) within the viewfinder.
