Overview

The Olympus E-PM1 is a good option for those just stepping up to a mirrorless camera from a compact point-and-shoot.

It is the simplest and also least expensive of the Olympus mirrorless cameras released in 2011. One aspect of its simplicity is that the E-PM1 has a standard fixed LCD screen, unlike the flexible LCD on the E-PL3 or the touch screen on the E-P3.

The camera has no viewfinder (and no option for one) and it does not have a built-in flash (an optional accessory flash is provided).

What it lacks in features it makes up for in style: the E-PM1 is available it a variety of non-standard colors including purple, pink, brown and white.
